Der Beitrag der Photovoltaik zur schweizerischen Stromerzeugung betrug 2010 erst bescheidene 0,13%. Das langfristige technische Potenzial der Photovoltaik ist jedoch hoch. Seine Nutzung erfordert allerdings eine starke Senkung der Gestehungskosten.
